'My mother and my wife don't get along'
Dear Diana, I am 30 and married. Ours was an arranged marriage. My problem is that there are huge differences between my wife and mother.
I have tried to resolve them, but things are not working out. My in-laws are very aggressive and tend to create pressure upon me to leave my mother. Since I am the only child, I can’t do that. There’s not a moment of peace in my house. I’m suffering because of these two ladies.
It was an arranged alliance, so what has gone wrong with the parties concerned? Your wife and mother do not get along, while you find yourself caught in the crossfire. I can understand your dilemma, but it will be hard to take sides as you cannot offend either. The only way out is to sit and discuss what is irking your wife and what is the cause of heartburn for your mom. They will have to learn to co-exist with each other if you want peace in the house.
Diana will solve it!
