Though the incident took place around 8.30 pm on Monday, his body was recovered the following morning after an extensive search by his family members. His body could not be spotted as he had fallen through the gap of the lift and also because the site remains quite dark all the time. "The incident took place on Monday night, but no one was aware of it. On returning home, when Om’s father couldn’t see his son, he started searching for him. He even asked his friends about his whereabouts, but even they were not aware," said a police officer from CBD police station.

On being found, Om was immediately shifted to the civic hospital, where he was declared brought dead. “Doctors claimed that he died due to a head injury and fractures. As per the post-mortem report, though the incident took place around 8:30 pm, he was alive till 5 am the following day,” added the relative.
