First time NCP corporator Shashikala Maladi (45), who had gone missing since September 23 this year was found dead on railways tracks near Govandi on Friday.
The Nerul corporator had gone missing from her residence in sector 3 without informing any one, after which her family members had lodged a complaint at Nerul police station.

Family members had claimed that she was under great stress and upset over being unable to procure her caste validity certificate from her birthplace in Latur. It is mandatory to submit the document to the Election Commission within six months of being elected as a NMMC corporator.
Police officials further claimed that Maladi was a first time corporator and was apparently under mental stress due to political reasons.
