The Indian contingent bagged a total of 11 golds in events such as volley ball, beach volley ball, beach basketball and kabaddi, in which more than 13 countries participated. The Indian team also won nine silver and seven bronze medals taking the total to 27 medals. Major Yadav, who captained the Indian equestrian team, said the competition was challenging and is now looking forward to other international events.

Most challenging
"Tent Pegging was the most challenging sport where we defeated all the other teams. Equestrian teams from Punjab, Haryana police and the Border Security Force (BSF) were also present during the event," said Yadav.
Yadav, who is from the Army Supply Corps (ASC) of the Indian Army, said he practised for several hours everyday for two months before the competition. "Horse-borne sports require rigorous practice since it is different from controlling a machine. Tent pegging is all the more difficult since we are supposed to pick up small ground targets with a long pointed object while galloping at high speeds," he explained.
