Neeta Lulla to gift customised jacket to Sean Paul
Veteran designer Neeta Lulla, who has gifted her creations to international musicians like Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo will continue the tradition by presenting a customised jacket
After wowing his fans in India in 2012, Grammy Award-winning artiste Sean Paul will hit the stage in Pune on Monday again. Veteran designer Neeta Lulla, who has gifted her creations to international musicians like Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo, KSHMR, Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers, will continue the tradition by presenting a customised jacket to the Jamaican hip-hop recording artiste and rapper. It has been learnt that the couturier will travel to Pune tomorrow to gift the outfit to Paul, a day ahead of his performance.
A source informs, "Sean is likely to wear it at the gig." Lulla, who is known to play with Indian motifs and fabrics in her creations, is keen that Indian designs make a mark on the global map. "She likes to gift her creations to international artistes because she wants to popularise indigenous fabrics and designs overseas. Also, the artistes love taking home a memento from India," says the source, adding, "She gifted a jacket to Akon last year, and he has already requested her to make another set of garments for him."
Speaking about the jacket, Lulla says that she zeroed in on gold as the colour complements Paul's musical persona. "We have used the craftsmanship of traditional zardozi workers by utilising Lucknowi detailing on purple velvet shoulder pads with gold tassels on textured woven bronze fabric," she says.
