Although Neil Nitin Mukesh decided to become an actor, he's pretty keen on building a career in music as well

After all, he belongs to a family of singers, with legendary Mukesh his grandfather and Nitin Mukesh his dad. To his credit, he has already composed some songs and we will soon see him as a music director in an upcoming film.u00a0

Neil, who is playing the lead role in Bejoy Nambiar’s second directorial venture David, is happy with the kind of singing he has done in movies till now. “I play the piano in my spare time. I’ve already lent my voice to three of my films — Aa Dekhen Zara, Jail and Shortcut Romeo — so far. But as of now, I’m not keen on full-fledged playback singing. However, I’ve already composed and recorded six songs for an upcoming film that’s releasing in 2014. Very soon you will see me as a music director too,” adds the actor.

The 31-year-old also wants his younger brother Naman — who recently assisted Abbas-Mustan in Race 2 — to direct him. He’s planning to request father Nitin Mukesh to sing for this film as well. “Naman has worked as an assistant director for four movies till now and is currently scripting his own film. Hopefully, early next year, he will direct me. We’ll try to convince dad to sing at least one song for us. If that happens, two generations of the Mukesh family will be part of one film after a long time,” signs off Neil. u00a0
