Karan Johar's upcoming film Takht has come in the line of fire after writer Hussain Haidry shared a controversial tweet about Hindus. The hashtag #BoycottTakht began trending, with netizens slamming Haidry for allegedly defaming Hindus. While his account has apparently been suspended, screen-shots doing the rounds on Twitter suggest he used words like Hindu terrorists in his tweets.

Agitated fans have directed their tweets to Johar, urging him to remove Haidry from the team, failing which they would boycott the drama. It is suggested that this isn't the first time that Haidry has posted controversial tweets.

Take a look at his tweet right here first:

The reactions were scathing, to say the least, one user wrote that with no response, they are certainly going to boycott Takht. He also wrote that most of the Bollywood movies always show Muslims as being a victim but this kind of hinduphobic guy was one notch up.

Another user wrote that although he likes Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, this time he's going to boycott Takht:

And another one commented that those people who write such things about Hindus cannot write good things also in movies for them. He also wrote they are going to boycott everyone who disrespected and defamed their religion:

Karan Johar, the director of the magnum opus, is yet to comment on the issue. The film is slated to release on December 24, 2021!
