Barcelona: Brazilian FC Barcelona forward Neymar might miss the El Clasico against Real Madrid after he mocked the fourth official following his red card verdict in a 0-2 loss to Malaga in the La Liga on Saturday.

Referee Jesus Gil Manzano, who booked Neymar for the second time in the match for a rash tackle on Diego Llorente to leave Barcelona down to 10 men for the final 25 minutes, included Neymar’s barb while walking off into the tunnel in his post-match report, according to the Guardian. This could result in up to three matches being added to Neymar’s suspension.

Luis rues lack of protection
Meanwhile, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique claimed his star players lack protection from referees after Neymar was sent-off for the first time on Saturday. The Brazilian was booked in the first-half for delaying a Malaga free-kick by tying his shoelaces in front of the ball and then charged into Roberto Rosales 25 minutes from time to see his second yellow card.

"I think the interpretation of the yellow cards is special," said Enrique. "We have to have be very careful in some games because there were some ugly challenges from behind that went unpunished and tying boots was," Enrique added.

Defeat leaves Barca still three points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.

Barca’s night of regrets
On a night of regrets for the Catalans, Sandro Ramirez came back to haunt Barca after being released last summer. Ramirez broke the offside trap to slot home the opener. And Malaga rounded off the win in the final minute when Pablo Fornals squared for Jony to fire into an unguarded net.
