Srinagar: A court in Srinagar on Thursday granted the NIA two days' transit remand of five accused in LeT terrorist Naveed Jat alias Abu Hunzullah's escape case.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already taken over the investigations of the case and booked five locals named Tika Khan, Syed Tajamul Islam, Muhammad Shafi Wani, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Jan Muhammad Ganai -- all from Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

The transit remand for shifting the accused to Jammu was granted by Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar.

The accused will be produced before a special NIA court in Jammu on Friday for seeking their custody by the agency, NIA sources said.

Two policemen were killed in the attack by militants to free the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist who was being taken to a hospital for check-up on February 6.
