Close on the heels of the news surrounding the birth of Roger Federer's second set of twins, it was reported on Saturday that Australian cricket great Ricky Ponting's wife is expecting their third child -- a boy after two girls.

Ponting told the Sunday Herald Sun newspaper that his wife Rianna is five months pregnant and the baby boy will join five-year-old Emmy and two-year-old Matisse in the family. “We’ve got two little girls at the moment, so it’s good to know we’ve got a little boy coming along. I’ll be able to spend some time in the backyard honing his cricket skills.”

Settling in
The newspaper reported that the Pontings have settled down in Melbourne permanently, “after years of spending months at a time living out of suitcases due to cricket commitments around the world.” They have bought a house in Brighton in the exclusive Golden Mile strip. “We thought long and hard about the move in the first place. Obviously it’s more my lifestyle in Melbourne, coming from Tassie (Tasmania), being around footy and even the weather is a bit more what I’m accustomed to.

“But we’ve been here about nine months now and the move has been great. I’ve been on the road a bit of that time through the summer with the book tour and Big Bash commentary and stuff, but we’ve settled in really well,” said Ponting.
