According to the report, Allen and Petraeus had reportedly vouched for Natalie Khawam, Kelley’s twin sister, in her ongoing custody fight for her son, DC Superior Court records have shown.
Allen met Khawam, 37, when he was deputy commander of US Central Command in Tampa, where they attended social functions, while Petraeus said he met Khawam three years ago through Kelley.
Both men had said she was a loving mother and asked the judge in the case to drop onerous visitation restrictions.
"In light of Natalie''s maturity, integrity and steadfast commitment to raising her child, I humbly request your reconsideration of the existing, mandated custody settlement," Allen had said.
However, the judge presiding over the custody dispute for Khawam described her as ‘dishonest’ and ‘lacking integrity’, the report said.
Khawam, eventually lost the case with her ex-husband being given the custody of their three-year-old son last year. She was also told to pay his legal bills amounting to 337,040 dollars, the report added.
