Batsmen Rhydian Wyn and Dyfed Sion decided not to play as they felt offended when they were asked not to use Welsh as the opponent team cannot understand the language, the Daily Express reports.

The match was between two teams from the Welsh villages of Crymych and Lamphey in Pembrokeshire, with Crymych Cricket Club based in a Welsh-speaking area while Lamphey is mainly English-speaking.

According to the source, the batsmen decided not to play as they felt offended when they were asked not to use Welsh.

League secretary Steve Blowes said that the matter would be looked into but it would be inappropriate to comment at this stage.
