"If Delhi police can send me to jail in the cash-for-vote scam, then why is it not taking any action against lawyers Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan when it has been found the CD involving them was genuine? I fail to understand this," said Amar Singh, who addressed his first press conference after getting bail.u00a0

"Their place is in Tihar jail and not next to Anna Hazare," Singh rued. Echoing with Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, Amar Singh also slammed Team Anna for dubbing all politicians as corrupt but failing to provide an alternative to the people. "They should suggest an alternative, like the JP Movement provided an alternative post-Emergency," Singh said.

The Rajya Sabha member, who was undergoing treatment under judicial custody at the AIIMS and was granted bail by Delhi High Court on October 24 on 'humanitarian grounds' in view of his medical condition, said he would go to Singapore either on November 15 or 16 for further treatment of his kidney ailment.

"As my doctor has gone to the US, I had to delay my visit to Singapore. I am planning to go there either on November 15 or 16. I will apprise the court about my travel plan," the former Samajwadi Party leader said. It may be recalled that a Delhi court had allowed him to go to Singapore from November 8 to November 30, stipulating that he would have to furnish a surety bond of Rs 5 lakh before going abroad.

Amar Singh is slated hold a rally in Sarnath near Varanasi on November 14 for creation of a separate Poorvanchal state. He has demanded creation of Poorvanchal state carved out of Uttar Pradesh and has asked chief minister Mayawati to bring a proposal in this regard in the winter session of state assembly.
