After last year's debacle, the government body plans to leave no stone unturned while declaring middle and high school scholarship examination results this year

After facing flak for the delay in declaring the results of the middle and high school scholarship examinations last year, the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE), is pulling out all stops to provide a glitch-free experience for candidates who appeared for these exams this year. The tentative dates of release of the examination results have been planned for May 1.

MSCE, a state level authority, which facilitates middle school (Std IV) and high school (Std VII) scholarships, is extra cautious this year while preparing the exam results.

Last year due to a last-minute technical snag, online results of Std IV were delayed, resulting in frustration for lakhs of students across the state.

In spite of an earlier announcement that both the results would be declared on May 1, the Std IV results were pronounced after a delay of almost two weeks on May 12.

“After last year’s mismanagement, we have received clear instructions from the top management not to reveal the result dates before making a final review. If all goes well, this year for the first time both the results will be declared on May 1,” said an MSCE official, on condition of anonymity.

This year a total 9.77-lakh students appeared for the Std IV scholarship exams, while 6.95 lakh students sat for the Std VII exams.

“We put the correct answers to the questions asked at the exams on our website yesterday. We have also set a two-day time frame for students to raise objections to any mistakes in it. Preparation of the final results is going according to the schedule,” said Shivaji Pandhre, deputy commissioner of MSCE.
