Indian Olympic contingent's goodwill ambassador Salman Khan has come under fire after he committed another faux pas on Sunday when he addressed Dipa Karmakar as Dipika and then Dipti
A huge controversy had erupted over the appointment of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan being appointed as the goodwill ambassador of the Indian team to Rio Olympics 2016.
The 50-year-old superstar being chosen as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Goodwill Ambassador saw several people expressing their displeasure on Khan's appointment.

Salman gave fresh fodder to his detractors on Sunday after he goof-up again.

At the trailer launch of his brother Sohail Khan's film 'Freaky Ali', Salman committed a faux pas twice when he forgot the name of India's star gymnast Dipa Karmakar.
The star called her Deepika and then Dipti, but not her actual name -- Dipa.
Even more tragic is the fact that Salman made the blunder on a day when Dipa made history by becoming the first Indian to qualify for the individual vault finals in her debut Olympics after finishing eighth in the qualifying round. She will compete in the finals on August 14.
Salman first addressed the Olympian as Deepika. What followed was hilarious and tragic at the same time. A journalist in his effort to correct the Khan said that the gymnast's name was Dipti. Salman nodded and said, "Yes, Dipti".

This coming from the goodwill ambassador of the 2016 Indian contingent. And to think that Salman had tweeted her profile ahead of the Olympics.
