Contrary to media reports that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) forced Pakistani actor Fawad Khan to leave India, it has been learnt that the actor was not in the country when MNS issued him an open threat in the wake of the Uri attack.

A source close to the actor said, “Fawad Khan left India in July. He has not returned to India since then, and has been in Pakistan itself. He completed his assignment in India and left for his hometown. The timing of his leaving the country can also be checked with the visa department of India.”

There have also been other reports, which claimed that the actor has spoken to the Pakistani media, and said that the country comes first and other things later. The source dismissed them as well. “Fawad has not spoken to the Pakistani media at all,” the source added.

A little over a week back, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened Pakistani actors and artists to leave India within 48 hours. The threat came from Amey Khopkar of MNS Chitrapat Sena who was quoted by ANI saying, "We give a 48 hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artists to leave India or MNS will push them out."
