People's Choice Awards comes to India
The awards ceremony will bring Bollywood bigwigs like newlyweds Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor who will make their first public appearance, Madhuri Dixit, Priyanka Chopra among others under one roof
For the first time ever in the almost four-decade history of the franchise, the acclaimed People’s Choice Awards arrives from the shores of America to India. It’s the only awards show in India honouring various fields of our pop culture across Bollywood, music, television and sports.
The USP of the awards format is in the fact that it adheres to the motto of the people, for the people and by the people! The People’s Choice official website at www.PeoplesChoiceIndia.com houses the voting platform where fans determine the winners for the annual awards show.
The awards ceremony, to be held today (October 27) at Film City will bring Bollywood bigwigs like Madhuri Dixit, newlyweds Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Nigam, Parineeti Chopra, Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar under one roof where they will put up a stellar performance for the audience. Ayushmann Khurrana will be the host for the evening and will enthrall the audience with his great comic style.
Speaking at a media briefing, Priyanka Chopra says, “I have seen the US version of these awards a lot of times, and I think Colors is the best platform to be presenting these awards. I love live acts, and I always try and do something different, and that’s what I will be doing at the People’s Choice Awards this time too.”
Akash Sharma, co-founder and MD, Bulldog Media & Entertainment, the format holders of the franchise for the Indian territory & the company behind bringing the successful entertainment franchise to India says, “When Bulldog was invited to the People’s Choice Awards in the US a few years ago, I knew it was an amazing franchise. But what hit us the most was that this was a show that gave a voice to the people.”
