A 21-yr-old DU student hit the victim with his car on Thursday night

A 25-year-old Pizza Hut employee died after he was hit by a speeding car driven by a Delhi University student, police said on Friday. Sukhwinder, a delivery boy at a Pizza Hut outlet in south Delhi's Greater Kailash, was on his way back to the restaurant when the speeding car hit his bike at around 10 pm on Thursday.

Sukhwinder, a resident of Badarpur in south Delhi, fell on the ground and began bleeding profusely."The incident took at around 10.25 pm in R-block near State Bank of India when the Chevrolet car, which was being driven by a 21-year old Delhi University student, identified as Prateek Tekriwal. He lost control of the vehicle and had a head on collision with the biker. A security guard on duty in the area too sustained injuries in the accident.

The driver was trying to overtake another vehicle and while at it he did not see the biker coming from the other side and rammed into him. We rushed the biker to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) trauma centre where he died during treatment," said a police officer. Prateek, a second-year commerce undergraduate at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, was arrested from the spot and the car impounded.

Bus runs over teenager
A 17-year-old boy died in an accident reported from Vivek Vihar area of east Delhi on Friday morning. The deceased, identified as Akash, was killed after a private bus rammed into him. "The bus allegedly hit the pedestrian killing him on the spot," said a police officer.

He added that the incident took place at around 7.45 am at a traffic intersection in Vivek Vihar area. The teenager was crossing the road when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and hit him. "The victim was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead," said a police officer.
