The Kurla Government Railway police (GRP) officers arrested a man in connection with the murder of a senior citizen on board the Kamayani Express on May 1.

Nankilal Siddique (65), accompanied by her grandson Imran, were travelling to Mumbai from Allahabad. Nankilal's body was found in the ladies compartment with her throat slit and a deep gash on her hand. Making a breakthrough in the case, the police arrested Sachin Mannatre yesterday. Senior inspector of Kurla GRP, Shivaji Dhumal, said, "We have arrested him on suspicion and are investigating the case further." According to the police, when Nankilal and her grandson were travelling in the ladies compartment, an unidentified person asked Imran to get off. Later, in Kurla, Imran found Nankilal's body strewn in blood. Officials said that Rs 2,500 was also missing from the victim.

A GRP officer requesting anonymityu00a0 said, "We rounded off all those who matched the sketches and finally arrested Mannatre, we believe that robbery was the motive behind the crime."
