Hero Prince Harry rushed to the rescue of a rival polo player when he was knocked unconscious during a charity match in Brazil.

The 27-year-old was the first to jump from his horse to give first aid to the stricken rider following the dramatic collision in Campinas.

The young royal’s quick-thinking, placing the casualty in the recovery position, may have saved his opponent’s life, according to the British Red Cross.

Said injured player Bash Kazi, “Prince Harry was the first one off his horse, doing the right thing, turning me over to make sure I regained consciousness.”

The US businessman also described Harry as a “fabulous person” and “such a gentleman”.

The accident happened when three horses collided, throwing Kazi to the ground and knocking him unconscious.

The 41-year-old added, “I remember waking up with these piercing blue eyes looking at me.” The amateur polo player is thought to have suffered a minor concussion but a CT scan later found everything to be clear.

Kazi had been invited to the star-studded polo match, for Harry’s South African charity Sentebale, by Ralph Lauren and professional player Nachos Figueras.

Despite an ambulance been rushed to the field, Kazi was able to walk off and even returned to finish the game.

Now he is hoping to lure Prince Harry back for another charity match, adding, “I look forward to squaring off with him in the US.”

The men took part in the third Sentebale Polo Cup, which raises money and awareness for orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho, South Africa.

Prince Harry’s lifesaving actions come just weeks after his hugely successful Diamond Jubilee tour of Latin America and the Caribbean.
