Mumbai skipper Prithvi Shaw continued his fine form and scored a fluent 122 against Saurashtra on Day One of the three-day U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy tie at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Kandivli ground on Saturday.
Prithvi’s 142-ball knock was laced with 20 boundaries. His ton helped Mumbai post a total of 276-4 at the end Day One. Hardik Tamore (64) was the other top scorer for Mumbai. At stumps, Pranav Kela and Utkarsh Raut were unbeaten on 47 and seven respectively. Saurashtra’s left-arm-spinner Karan Patel finished with 3-65.

Rizvi Springfield’s Prithvi scored a record-breaking 546 in the team’s opening Harris Shield inter-school tie against St Francis D’Assisi and followed it up with scores of 188, 79 and 127.
Mumbai coach Prashant Shetty said his team was eyeing a first innings score of 400. “We’ve started well and must capitalise on it. I think 400 will be a good total,”he said.u00a0
