Prop goes the art

Amtosh Singh always had an eye for design and architecture. Perhaps it was this love for the creative that led him to start Propshop24 last month -- a one-stop-shop for kitschy gift items for your home and office.

The online portal is co-owned by three of his best friends -- Utsav Vora, Vishnu Malani and Rohan Majlorkar -- all of whom love to travel, which helps them source their products.

“Travelling teaches you so much about a particular country’s art and culture. We were so impressed by the diverse products that we found in the nooks and corners of different streets and bylanes we started collecting some of these unique finds,” says Singh.

But setting up this e-store was not easy especially when shipping of the products was involved. “The sourcing was easy but bringing them to India was not,” recalls Singh. The products are sourced from Germany, America, Holland, Israel and France.

Though most of the items are one-of-a-kind, the major difference between them and other individual brands that sell similar products, Singh believes is, “That they make the products and we source them. Their products are mostly based in India while ours are from around the world.”

Commenting on their future plans, Singh says they are currently collaborating with various Indian product designers. “We would love to introduce new products to our list. We are also looking at collaborating with different product designers.”u00a0
