A 42-year-old property dealer was shot dead allegedly by bike-borne armed miscreants while he was returning home, police said today

Agra: A 42-year-old property dealer was shot dead allegedly by bike-borne armed miscreants while he was returning home, police said today.


The victim, Pawan Chauhan, was shot dead on Karkunj Road here last evening, SP City, Sameer Saurabh.


Prima facie, it appears that the motive behind the murder is a property case. Chauhan was the city unit president of Shiv Sena, but had later joined BJP, he said.


There were nine bullet marks on his body. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused and the matter is being further probed, police said.

Meanwhile, in another incident the president of the Rajamandi Bazar committee was shot dead by unknown assailants in Shahganj market on Friday.

An associate of the alleged miscreants had been held of questioning and investigations were on, police said.

Shopkeepers of Lohamandi and Rajamandi continued their protest today against the murder of the victim Hemandas Jaswani.
