Q. What has your experience been like during your ongoing trip in India?
A. This is my first trip to India, and already, I have played in Himachal Pradesh, Bangalore, Coorg and Hyderabad. Today, I will perform in Pune, on Saturday I go to Delhi, and on Sunday I will be in Mumbai. It’s been a pretty amazing trip so far. In India, there’s a good energy — people are always smiling and dancing. I liked performing here. You guys are amazing. As for the gig, I have lot of fans here in India; they would often request us to play here. A friend knew the organisers in India. So, he called a few people, and I was in India.

Q. You have been playing Psychedelic Trance for over a decade now. What makes this genre different from other genres of Electronic Dance Music, and your music especially?
A. I started this project when I was just sixteen. So, for me, Psychedelic Trance is a complete culture. It’s one of the most interesting things in the world. Most Psychedelic Trance music is underground. It’s made for fun and with friends, so unlike other genres, it’s not commercial as yet. There are many sub genres within it — Dark, FullOn, etc. However, as an artiste I like to be flexible. People try to put me into different styles, but I never follow one. Sometimes, my music is as low as 145 beats per minute (bpm) and can go up to 200-212 bpm. For me all of it is Psychedelic. It has a bit of everything.

Q. Tell us about the EDM scene in Mexico? Do you see any difference there and here?
A. The scene is pretty big in Mexico, bigger than what you have in India. We have lots of these big festivals that last for two-three days. This doesn’t happen here. But at the same time, it’s difficult to make a living with music in Mexico. The places where we play are mostly underground. So, it’s tough being a musician. Besides, you need to be the best to survive.
