Now Hear Me Croon: Raghuvir Yadav.

Actor Raghuvir Yadav has a hidden talent singing.  And he used that to his advantage in his upcoming film Delhi-6. He has sung verses from Ramayan.

Even though the length of his role in the film is about seven minutes, he practised for over six months for it!

Getting it right

A source from the unit reveals, "Raghuvir not only studied the Ramayana closely but also rehearsed singing for nearly six months."

Delhi-6 director, Rakeysh Mehra confirms, "Raghu is very familiar with the Ramayan. His father used to read it at home.

Later, he and  Bharati (Mehra's wife) researched for the part. For almost six months, they kept rehearsing the chaupai, and they even visited many scholars to understand the nuances of singing. He has not only sung but also composed the verses."

When contacted, Raghuvir says, "Yes, though since childhood I have heard my father reciting Ramayan at home, I wanted to be correct in terms of pronunciations and the way it is sung. I had to rehearse a lot to get it right."
