Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' featuring Ranbir Kapoor might shift its release date from Christmas 2014 to avoid clash with Aamir Khan starrer 'Peekay'

With Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Rajkumar Hirani's Aamir Khan-starrer 'Peekay'. slated for a Christmas release, it was to be a showdown. However now it has emerged that 'Bombay Velvet's release date may be pushed back.

Says a source,"Bombay Velvet's release date (December 25) was announced even before they started shooting for the film. But then it was announced that 'Peekay' would release on the same day. Now Fox Star Studios plans to release Bombay Velvet on another day, as it doesn't want to take on Aamir's film. However, nothing has been confirmed yet,” said the source.
Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios and Anurag Kashyap remained unavailable for comment. Incidentally, Kashyap had recently announced that he was upset about Hirani not keeping him in the loop about the film's release.
"All it would have taken is a phone call," Anurag Kashyap had said during an event in Sri Lanka where he was shooting.
