Wicketkeeper-batsman Naman Ojha (99 not out) and No.7 Ankit Sharma (63 not out) helped Madhya Pradesh post 250 for five against Mumbai on the first day of Group 'C' Ranji Trophy match at the Emerald High School Ground on Saturday. Ojha hit 13 fours a six during his 241-ball stay at the crease. Sharma, who is basically a left-arm spinner and scored 104 against Baroda last week, hit 12 boundaries during his unbeaten knock. For Mumbai, Akash Parkar claimed two for 48, while fellow pacers Royston Dias, Abhishek Nayar and left-arm spinner Vijay Gohil got one apiece.

Rajkot: In a Group 'B' match, Ravindra Jadeja, who was ignored for the series against New Zealand, made a statement with an unbeaten 150 for Saurashtra on the first day of against Jammu and Kashmir. Jadeja struck his eighth first-class hundred to take Saurashtra to 428 for four at stumps. Jadeja shared a mammoth 281-run stand for the fourth wicket with Sheldon Jackson, who smashed 181 off 156 balls. His blazing innings comprised 22 fours and seven sixes. Jadeja, on the other hand, hit 18 boundaries and two sixes during his unbeaten effort.


Nadiad: In other Group 'B' encounter, the defending champions Gujarat, who are playing their first match in the tournament, spinner Piyush Chawla returned figures of 5 for 69 to bundle out Kerala for 208 runs at the GS Patel Stadium. Later, coming in to bat, Gujarat posted 60 for two, trailing by 148 runs at stumps.

New Delhi: In a Group 'A' match, Nitish Rana (89), Anuj Rawat (74) and Manan Sharma (68 not out) helped Delhi post 318 for six against Railways at the Karnail Singh Stadium here.
