On Thursday, 24 July, 1980, Uttam Kumar passed away. A week later, Mohd Rafi fell victim to heart attack. The following week, on August 7, Vrajendra Gaur passed away. Much to the industry’s relief, nothing fatal happened on August 14, 1980.
