Retired husbandry doctor tries to molest 16-year-old neighbour

A 59-year-old retired husbandry doctor allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of a 16-year-old girl by calling her to his house after promising to give her a book for studies.

However, the girl, who understood his ill intentions, pushed him to the floor and ran away and narrated the incident to her mother. The incident took place in a row house in Kondhwa.

The Kondhwa police have arrested the doctor after the family of the girl approached the police station and lodged a complaint. The doctor has been identified as Riyazuddin Sirazuddin Khan and has been arrested under section 354 of IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

The suspect is a retired husbandry doctor and a resident of Kondhwa. He has two sons and daughters-in-law who too are working as doctors and reside in the same house.

“On Tuesday afternoon, when the doctor was home alone, he called a girl, who is a resident of the same area, to his house and promised to give her a book for studies. However, when the girl went inside, he tried to molest her,” said Assistant Police Inspector Sunil Thopate of Kondhwa police station.

The girl, who felt uncomfortable immediately understood the ill intentions of the suspect and pushed him to the ground and ran away from the house.

“She then came home and narrated the incident to her mother and later the family approached the police station and lodged a complaint,” said Thopate.

He added, “We immediately went to his house and arrested him and he will be produced before the court on Wednesday.”
