Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming thriller starring Akshay Kumar is based on a real-life jewellery heist in Mumbai back in 1987. Akki plays a conman who robbed a jewellery store of lakhs of rupees, while posing to be a CBI officer.

Our sources say that the actor was very keen to visit the actual store premises in Zaveri Bazaar. However, the storeowners are not very excited about the prospect of Akki coming over and were unwilling to meet him.

A source says, “Since the film is about to release, Akki was very curious and wanted to make a trip to the store. However, the owners are not willing to attract any unnecessary attention.”

Since the daredevil robbery took place in broad daylight, it left everyone shell-shocked. The source adds, “Without cameras and mobile the cops found it very difficult to solve the case. The show owners do not want to relive those unnerving moments again. They don’t want any buzz around their store.”

It is believed that the owners are in panic-mode and are also calling for heavy security to safeguard their interests.

The film’s official spokesperson states, “Real stories are always sensitive to handle. Our intent is not to hurt anyone's sentiment.”u00a0
