Four rock bands will clash today. Are you ready to judge them?Four rock bands will clash today. Are you ready to judge them?
ANOTHER thriller starts. Rock bands on the stage, teenagers at the mosh pit trying to get a better view and the mayhem. Music so loud that it's literally assaulting of eardrums and amid all the head banging and applauds the intoxicating madness. It's the scene that is expected today at Hard Rock Caf as upcoming rock bands of the city will be performing for Independence Rock, one of India's biggest and oldest rock music festival. The festival is a hunt for the rock band that deserves audience adulation.
The musical festival that started from 7th of November has been moving all across the nation and will see four rock bands from the capital battling for a spot in the grand finale today. The bands will be judged by Shashank Bhatnagar, lead vocalist of the metal band 'Undying Inc'. The four bands performing today are Arcane Deception, Bull Engine, Agrath and Zzid.
Arcane Deception, the four-year-old band, four members is the first one to perform today. Saurabh Seth, the guitarist who is certain of their win, says, "The audiences have liked our music from the very start. They love watching us live that is because we play the kind of music that you wouldn't have heard before. It's the combination of metal and melody presented in a progressive manner and we call our music 'progressive melodic deathmetal'. Deathmetal because rock has a dark side to it but that's cool unless you get influenced by it." On asking what will they be performing today he adds, "We'll play our own productions. There will be only five originals as we have only 30 minutes slot to perform."
Parikshit, the lead guitarist and vocalist of the band Bull Engine says rock bands today are more about aggression and less about music. "We are a mixture of aggression and music. We play Punk rock, Hard rock and Funk rock," says Parikshit.
Talking about the band name and their performance today he adds, "We were all engineering students who started the band so Bull Engine came from there only. It's an engineering term that we thought suited our band best. Today, we will be performing six of our self composed songs and we are sure to rock."
