Rushing through the snow

While most fashion designers were travelling from one city to another for the fashion weeks, Krishna Mehta was busy skiing. Having recently returned from the Swiss Alps after an extended vacation, this avid skier can't stop raving about Crans Montana in the heart of the Swiss Alps. She shares a page from hertravel album with CS:

Alps, all the way
I left for Crans Montana in the first week of March. It is about two hours away from Geneva in western Switzerland. It's a very beautiful place with a spectacular view of the Alps. It is located 3,000 meters above sea level and the temperature is minus 15oC. It has a glacier, which is very popular with skiers. Lovely lakes, chalets and Alpine scenery make it a treat for visitors.u00a0

Just gliding
This was strictly a skiing holiday where I only indulged my passion of 25 years. My family and friends were with me so it was a lot of fun. We used to start skiing early in the morning and end the day around 5pm. Every day, we covered distances of around 50 - 100 kms just gliding over the Swiss slopes. It is great fun, having your breakfast at one mountain and lunch on another. You will find a number of small bars and cafes on the mountains that cater to skiing groups.

Time for some bonding
A number of skiers from across the world come to Crans Montana and I became friends with a few of them. Every day after skiing, we would meet up in the small bars that serve hot wine over food and live music. Dinner was a great affair with all of us sharing our experiences of the day. We used to be in bed by 10pm as we had to start early the next day.

I think everyone should give skiing a shot. Fantastic views, fresh snow, clean mountain air and a rush of adrenalineu00a0-- what more do you need in a break?

French connection
I spent a day in Paris on my way home. I love the city and start missing it if I don't go there every six months. I spent the day at the cafes, checking out the store displays. Touring the fashion streets of Paris is an education in itself. And I couldn't get enough of Cafu00e9 Fleur and Cafu00e9 Des Deux Magots.
