Nicole Kidman has rounded off what has been a spectacular year for her with a Screen Actors Guild Award

Nicole Kidman has rounded off what has been a spectacular year for her with a Screen Actors Guild Award. The actress took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her portrayal of Celeste Wright in hit-TV series Big Little Lies. Tearing up while accepting her award, Kidman said she was emotional because the award and the moment meant a lot to her.

"I'm crying. [This] means a lot to me. I've been working since I was 14 years old. I'm incredibly nervous because this is reality colliding with fantasy right now. I was working until 1 a.m., which is a fantastic blessing last night, but I have the flu and I'm playing a pretty out-there, raw character right now so I've had a little trouble shedding it", noted Kidman.
She added, "But I'm here and I'm incredibly grateful. To receive this at this stage of my life is extraordinary, and at this time in the industry when these things are going on and for this role". Kidman went on to thank her fellow Big Little Lies nominees, as well as Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon and Meryl Streep, who she considers as her inspiration.
'I revere you, I've watched you, and I've learned from you. I want to thank you all for your trailblazing performances you've given over your career and how wonderful it is that our careers today can go beyond 40 years ago. Twenty years ago, we were pretty washed up at this stage in our lives. That's not the case now. We have proven, and these actresses and so much more are proving that we are potent and powerful and viable', shared Kidman.
This marked her tenth overall SAG Awards nomination, but it was her first win. Kidman has raked in every accolade possible for her portrayal of Celeste Wright. She won a Golden Globe, Emmy, and Critics' Choice award for the role. She beat out her 'Big Little Lies' costars Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon, as well as Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon for their work on 'Feud: Bette and Joan'.
Meanwhile, his 'Big Little Lies' co-star Alexander Skarsgard won the best actor in a limited series at the star-studded ceremony. While accepting the award, Skarsgård said that he was 'shocked' and 'humbled', 'embarrassed' and 'infinitely grateful'.
He said, 'A lot of people have been talking about who the greatest male actor ever is. Is it Mr Robert De Niro or the tall dude from True Blood? The thespians have spoken'.
Skarsgard defeated four actors who have received multiple SAG Award nominations over their careers - Benedict Cumberbatch ('Sherlock: The Lying Detective'), Jeff Daniels ('Godless'), and De Niro ('The Wizard of Lies'), and Geoffrey Rush ('Genius').
