Saif films for a high-octane action sequence for 'Race 2'
From wielding a sword at the opponent to acing water sports, adventure activities come naturally to Saif Ali Khan
After surprising his action director on the sets of Abbas-Mustan’s next with his fencing skills recently, the film’s crew was once again in awe of the actor.
Apparently the filmmakers had thought of getting a body double to perform Saif’s high-octane chase scenes in the water. However, lo and behold, Saif did all of that himself steering his motorboat with elan.
A source from the sets says, “Saif just loves water sports and didn’t give in to the requests of having a body double. He wanted to do it on his own. In fact every time action director Peter Heins would get busy setting up scenes, Saif would take the boat for a spin.”
Peter tells us, “Saif doesn’t like to use body doubles and that’s the best part of working with actors like John Abraham and Saif who are so enthusiastic about doing their own action. I was scared to imagine Saif controlling the boat himself. But ultimately it turned out very well.”
Saif says he had a great time filming in Cyprus for the sequence and adds, “It was quite a remarkable action sequence. Peter designed it very well. I love being in the sea.”
