Star shuttler Saina Nehwal yesterday came to the defence of national coach Pullela Gopichand who has been criticised by doubles specialist Prajakta Sawant for "mentally torturing" here on disciplinary grounds

Sawant has moved the Bombay High Court against Gopichand after she was denied entry into the national coaching camp in Hyderabad. Saina however rubbished the allegations.

“Look at me. I am standing here today as World No 3. I would like to thank Gopi Sir for where I am today. I don’t know from where all these things are coming out and I really don’t know what this is,” Saina said on the sidelines of the launch of her autobiography Playing To Win that traces her badminton journey from age-group tournaments.
