Defending champions Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) produced a brilliant combined performance to script a convincing 6-0 win against an inexperienced St Lawrence (Borivli) in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised girls' U-16 Div I inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Sai Sankhe and Kushi Khan struck a brace each in the second half, while Diya Parikh and Vania Nagpal got the first two goals in the opening session to complete the big win. Sai, 13, who spearheads the attack for the Juhu outfit, has scored eight goals in three matches. The tall, athletically built footballer is not ready to grab all the attention and credits her achievement to her teammates.

"I give all credit to my teammates. We are working well together as a team and every player is making good contributions, which is the main reason for us winning all the our games in convincing fashion," a modest Sai, who is one of the youngest players of the team, told mid-day.

Other result:
Bomaby International, Babulnath 2 (Samia Jetha, Keya Bajaj) beat Jamnabai Narsee, Juhu 0
