Theu00a0Yevat police arrested seven people in connection with a shooting incident over lifting of sand from a river, in which two people were killed and one injured on Saturday.
The incident took place in Rahu village near Yevat in Daund taluka when one Santosh Jagtap allegedly opened fire on another group led by Ramesh Sonawane.
The police said Ramesh and his brother Ganesh were killed in the firing while a person called Umesh Sonawane was critically injured.
The police said 22 people suspected involved in the group rivalry were absconding. The arrested seven were produced in court yesterday and remanded in police custody till December 3.
