After being part of the small screen as judge of two reality shows, Sanjay Leela Bhansali now wants to turn to television.

Things are hush-hush at the moment, but the filmmaker is apparently in the process of getting into TV production as well as expanding his banner.

Says a source, "Plans are just in the initial stages. His TV outfit will also operate from his film production office in Juhu. Preliminary talks are on for production of daily soaps for two leading channels."

Buzz is that Bhansali's name could garner Rs 25 lakh per episode, when the normal budget is Rs 10-12 lakh.

"Due to his name, channels are willing to hike the budget per episode assigned to producers. They are giving him double of what they offer to others," adds the source.

However, the filmmaker's role will only be that of a producer. He will not direct the TV productions himself. "A strategy similar to another film production company venturing into TV is being worked out.

Actors will be in contract with him and he will give his creative inputs," explains the source. Apparently, this is part of the filmmaker's desire to expand into new avenues.

"Like he gives a break to new directors to make films under his banner, he will introduce talent in the small screen as well," says the source.
