Dutt-Devgan starrer gets fresh lease of life

Mr Fraud will soon see the light of day. The film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Ashtavinayak has been lying in the cans since 2007.

It is learnt that the producers recently expressed a desire to revive the project.

Kept waiting

After a schedule at Filmistan Studios and even a long outdoor in London, the project found itself shunted to the backburner.

Mr Fraud stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Tanushree Datta and Anuj Sawhney.

After Dutt was involved in a legal imbroglio and courted arrest, the film came to an absolute standstill. Meanwhile Abbas- Mustan got busy with their other projects, Naquaab and Race.

Says a source, "The producers want to put the comedy back on track, especially because Sanjay and Ajay will soon be seen together in Rohit Shetty's next project, produced by Devgan. Ashta- vinayak now feels that the pairing of both these stars will help their project too."

The Mr Fraud cast had shot for an elaborate song choreographed by Remo, apart from the several scenes shot in London.

Adds the source, "Now Abbas-Mustan have turned producers and their next directorial venture, the desi version of The Italian Job has yet to roll. The duo can take out time to complete this project.

The Ashtavinayak spokes-person maintains, "There has been talk on the Mr Fraud front, but at the moment it is in the initial stages."
