Actor Saqib Saleem, whose short film "Aamad" released on Monday, says it was the simple plot of Neeraj Udhwani's directorial that made him sign up for the project.

The short film released on Terribly Tiny Talkies, a channel on YouTube.

"Aamad" is a short film based on an emotional yet strained relationship between a father and his son, in which the son is embarrassed of his father being a Kathak dancer.

"It's a story that when I read it I knew I wanted to do. It was only later I realised Kathak wouldn't be easy but we put in a week to try and do it to the best of our abilities. The simplicity of the story is what made me take on this short film", said Saleem in a statement.

"Aamad" also features Arif Zakaria, Charu Rohatgi and Abeer Pandit.

Saqib was last seen in "Dobaara: See Your Evil", which was his first project with his sister and actress Huma Qureshi.

The Prawaal Raman directorial, which released on June 2, is an official adaptation of the 2013 American horror film "Oculus".
