Q. Tell us about the inspiration behind the single. Is it based on your experiences?
A. The idea for the song revolves around the mistakes that people make in relationships, like losing themselves in an attempt to make it work. And hence, “forgetting themselves”. It is based on my experiences and that of the people close to me.

Q. Have you always been interested in singing?
A. I love to sing and I have sung all my life. It was a matter of time before I decided to make it known. I have been to music school and Samantha Edwards has been my vocal coach and also the reason why I can now “own it”.

Q. Is there a message you wish to convey?
A. Yes, that one should always believe…in the universe, in oneself, the goodness of humanity, music, love and life. And people should express themselves creatively because it’s a precious gift that has been placed deep inside each and every one
of us.

Q. How did Arunoday, Bani and Sapna come on board?
A. The people in the video are close friends and represent aspects of my personality: the writer, lover, and dancer. Every character was chosen for their strong personality, and ability to speak volumes using body language.

Q. What’s next for you?
A. I have two films coming up: Zubaan and Angry Indian Goddesses. I will start filming for Excel Entertainment’s film. And, of course, lots more music, travel and yoga.
