Secret pub crawl: Time travel across Mumbai
On Âu00c2u0080Âu00c2u0088Saturday, as you try to wade your way through an overcrowded pub, a group of 150 in the city will venture on a time travel expedition. While they may not be armed with Hermoine Granger’s prized time-turner, in a single night, they’ll be teleported to three eras — the ’40s, ’80s and the futuristic 2020s. The first-of-its-kind adventure, known as the Secret Time Travel Pub Crawl, is courtesy Paprika Idea Labs. Powered by Jameson Irish Whiskey, the crawl features three bars — each with era-specific music, food, cocktails and ambience.

The night begins with The Daily Bar & Kitchen in Bandra, which dons a ’40s-style avatar. Here, guests can sip on Pre-Prohibition era cocktails like Ward 8, a whiskey-orange juice concoction and Scofflaw, featuring whiskey, campari, grenadine and sour mix. The music will include Jazz, Swing and Blues numbers.

Then, the guests will move to Bonobo and dance to defining tracks from 1980s’ music sensations — Madonna, Whitney Houston, Eurythmics and Bon Jovi — over cocktails like the lemonade-infused Whiskey At Home and Forbidden Apple, which has a hint of hazelnut.

The party ends at the recently-opened Rastafarian-themed lounge Raasta Bombay, which makes the perfect setting for the 2020s. Groove to experimental sets by a DJ Grain aka Gaurav Raina (one-half of Midival Punditz) as you tank up on their innovative and potent LIIT-like bongtails. The event will also be live-streamed on Facebook Live and Periscope.
On September 24, 7.30 pm onwards meeting point The Daily Bar & Kitchen,
SV Road, Bandra (W).

Secret headphone party: Tune out to tune in to the music
There’s a silent headphone party coming to town. And it’s supposed to be a secret. Well, some of it, as of now. We’ll sneak you in to what’s reached our ears. Secret Headphone Party will be held at an open-air high-rise restaurant in South Mumbai, with the exact venue being revealed only a day prior to the event. Organised by DrinksOnMe, the party begins at 8 pm and will go on till 1.30 am, way past the 10 pm deadline followed across the city.

What we also know is that there will be six DJs playing through the night — three in the first half, and three in the second. Their identities? Also a secret. You will get a set of headphones at the entrance, with three buttons — red, blue, and green — between which you can switch to listen to the music of your choice.

The red button will tune you into Hip Hop, Future House, and Bass House; the blue to Commercial, Tropical House, and Deep House; and the green to Psy Trance, Chill Step, and Trap.

Sanchit Gupta, co-founder, DrinksOnMe, says, "We came across a silent party in Europe. People in India are always looking for something different to do, which is why we decided to bring the concept here." Headphones on? Now get ready to dance the night away under the stars.
On September 24, 8 pm onwards AT Venue will be revealed on September 23.
Cost Rs 1,000
