Security guard opens fire at Santacruz Air Force station; 2 dead, 1 serious

A security guard shot dead two people at Santacruz Air Force station in Mumbai late last night. The people killed were guards at the base and two others also got injured in the incident

Mumbai: A security guard shot dead two people at Air Force station in Santacruz late last night. The people killed were guards at the base and two others also got injured in the incident.


Guard R S Yadav opened seven rounds of fire, killing two guards on the spot.


Those killed were Som Dutta and H K Singh.


The incident took place around 1 am on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

One of the other two injured guards is said to be in a serious condition and is admitted at KEM Hospital. The other guard got shot in the leg and is getting treated at KEM as well.

After the incident Yadav fled the spot but at Vanrai-Goregaon nakabandi he got arrested.

Police have reached the spot and are investigating into the matter. The reason as to why the guard opened fire is not yet known, police said.

A case was registered at Nirmal Nagar police station.
