Shah Rukh Khan says with the advent of social media, longevity of stardom on the decline

Shah Rukh Khan: There will be a superstar in future who will be bigger than us

One third of the Khan triumvirate, Shah Rukh Khan has ruled B-Town in a way that only few have. As he celebrated his 52nd birthday with the media at a suburban five-star yesterday, the actor reflected on the changing face of superstardom.

"I think the concept of superstar and superstardom is going to change. I believe that the longevity of stardom is going to reduce. In a way, it has already happened during our time. Earlier, it used to take three months for a film to release across India. Now after a film's release in the theatres, it takes three seconds for the film to reach our mobile phones. So if it took me 10 years to become a star, the younger generation will be able to achieve the same in a year or two," said Khan.'

However, the actor rubbished the notion that B-Town won't see the same dominance after the three Khans. "I am sure there will be a superstar in the future who will be bigger than us," he smiled. Despite being in the industry for 27 years, Khan admitted that he is still awkward turning down films.

"I always take time to say no as I don't like to hurt anyone. It takes me almost three months to turn a film down, because I know a lot of people will feel bad. Even today, I struggle to say no to films."
