According to the website, Maria Sharapova’s 23-year-old Bulgarian boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov turned down an invitation to be at the ATP World Tour Finals which concluded last night with the Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic final clash.

No thanks
“Coming off a career year, (Dimitrov) was invited to be one of those alternates, thanks to his year-end ranking of No 11. (With Rafael Nadal out of the tournament due to injury, Dimitrov was slated to be the second alternate.) But Dimitrov turned down the invitation, choosing instead to hang out in London with his girlfriend, Maria Sharapova,” said the report. And Dimitrov was quoted as telling L’Equipe, “If I go, it is because I deserved to be there, not hope someone gets hurt, so I get to play. So no, I don’t think it’s my thing.”

Dimitrov tweeted, “so much to discover and some of the finest street art work at the Sunday Up Market! #London.” Meanwhile Sharapova stands a good chance of winning the WTA Comeback Player of the Year Award. She won her fifth Grand Slam title at the French Open this year. Here great rival Serena Williams could walk away with the Player of the Year award.

Tennis aside...
Earlier in the week, Sharapova stressed on the importance of consuming liquids to Lucky magazine: “To stay healthy off the court, hydration is something I try to think about every day. I always start my day off with half a litre of water. I don’t take any vitamins or supplements. I try to get the proper nutrients from vegetables and fruits. I love making my own juices. My favourite is a combination of kiwi, kale, grapefruit, lemon and spinach.”

She also spoke about her perfume preference that Belfast Telegraph reported. “I love sensual, floral scents like Luck. It’s not too strong for the morning, but it’s powerful enough to carry me through the day. It’s a fragrance I feel very comfortable in,” she said.
