She knows what she wants

Sania Mirza’s open letter lashing out at the AITA, Leander Paes, Vece Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi made her a trending topic. Angry Bombay Girl tweeted: ‘Her letter is a very important document. It reminds all men that she plays tennis too.’ Shalaj Lawania added: ‘The letter has increased my respect for her.’ RJ Samer had a question: ‘To people taking Sania’s side, will you do the same if Ravindra Jadeja writes a similar letter to Sachin Tendulkar?’ José Covaco jumped into the discussion with this comment: ‘When you get to the second half of Sania’s letter, you start smiling and understand why Shoaib Malik looks so scared all the time.’ Rupayan Bhattacharya tweeted: ‘Sania’s situation is just like Madhuri Dixit’s in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. She wants Bhupathi as partner but is forced to play with Lee.’ And from Vinita Chaturvedi: ‘Her outburst has sent shivers down tennis players’ spines! Loving it!’

The wrong guy
Eight hours after reports saying Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who has spent 22 years on death row, was being released, Pakistan clarified that it was another prisoner named Surjeet instead. This prompted Dr Majorlyprofound to tweet: ‘Sources clarified that Zardari said “pass me the salt” but was misheard and misquoted as “pardon and free Sarabjit Singh.”. Sounds plausible.’ Ashish Shakya asked, ‘What do you expect from a country that keeps confusing Kashmir with Pakistan?’

R.I.P.
The death of American filmmaker and screenwriter Nora Ephron made her a trending topic for a while. David Schneider tweeted: ‘All comedy writers are just ladies staring in awe at her talent from a nearby table, saying “I’ll have what she's having”.’

The last word
From actress Shilpa Shetty: ‘Being a mother is a full-time job. One has to be ready to give 25 hours a day to the baby or don’t do it! Amazing how our mothers did it all without any help.’
