At the MCA Annual General Meeting yesterday, Prof Shetty said: “The denominations of the tickets that were allocated to people and what they actually got was a mess. There was one area of the ground for which there was no cost mentioned on the tickets.”

He also pointed out that unnecessary expenditure was incurred during the Test. “The catering cost of the match came to Rs 1.93 crore. Even if food is ordered at the rate of Rs 1000 per plate, I want to know who were those people who ate food. We should curtail such expenses,” said Prof Shetty.

There were issues raised about the indoor facilities at the Bandra Kurla Complex as well. Prof Shetty said, “The indoor facility that we have is the best in the world. I am surprised that despite the carpet (that needed to be changed on one of the strips) being supplied by the supplier, it hasn’t been laid out yet.” Shetty also pointed out the increase in the legal expenditure that MCA has incurred in the recent past.
