Shikhar Dhawan requested to be left out of India's Test squad for the second Test between hosts and Sri Lanka at Nagpur due to personal reasons. Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were left out of the Indian cricket team. While the reason for Bhuvneshwar Kumar's ouster was his marriage, Shikhar Dhawan's personal reason recently came to light.

The reason Shikhar Dhawan requested for a leave of absence was in order to attend his sister Shreshtha's wedding. Shikhar Dhawan's sister Shreshtha was recently married to Bason in a Catholic ceremony. Shikhar Dhawan went on to post a photo with his sister Shreshtha and his wife Aesha Dhawan.

India are currently playing Sri Lanka in the second Test at Nagpur after a draw in the first. The final Test will be held in Delhi.
