Chennai: Fine centuries from Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer and former Indian keeper Parthiv Patel, playing for Gujarat, lit up the third round of the ongoing Buchi Babu Memorial Cricket tournament here today.


If Shreyas's 133 helped Mumbai post 379 in 88.5 overs against TNCA City XI then Parthiv's 100 off 86 balls gave Gujarat (305 in 87.2 overs) the upper hand against Hyderabad (33/1 in 10 overs).


Shreyas 133 (165b, 12X4, 4X6) and Arham Jaffar 61 (114b, 7X4, 1X6) put on 114 runs in 206 balls for the 4th wicket against TNCA City while Parthiv stitched a 113-run partnership off 120 balls with Chirag Gandhi (36) to put his team in a strong position.
