Six held in sex racket

The Anti-Chain Snatching Squad of the city Crime Branch raided a health care centre on Bhandarkar road yesterday, where a gang of six was running a sex racket under the pretext of it being a physiotherapy centre.

The police arrested five women and the manager of the parlour known as ‘Jeev Health Care’ on charges of carrying out prostitution for the past several months.


The six suspects identified as Malwadi resident Satyawan Bhagwan Chavan (19), Singhad road resident Suchitra Pratap Chavan (30), Hadapsar resident Sayali Vishnu Jagtap (23), Wakad residents Ritu Madan Roy (28) and Sakshi Deepak Gaikwad (27) and Vitthalwadi resident Pramila Hanumant Sasane (23).u00a0


All those arrested have been charged under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. Parlour owner Sambhaji Dnyaneshwar Murade, a resident of Shaniwar peth is absconding.u00a0
